According to the Commonwealth war graves commission, Alfred R Verrier was killed in 1944 aged 21, so he would not have been the builder\developer in the 1920's, however his certificate gives his parents names, and his father was Alfred James Verrier, (http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/20466...
